Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It has been a pleasure to serve the people of Coos, Douglas, and Lane Counties in the Oregon House of Representatives since 2004. As your State Representative I have fought for the issues that matter to Oregonians, trying to approach my job from a perspective that takes into consideration our area’s needs and long-term priorities.

I have the outstanding privilege to serve as the Chair of both the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Rural Policy Committee, and as a committee member on the Education Committee. In the last regular and supplemental sessions, the Legislature and Governor enacted legislation that helped put Oregon on track to restoring fairness and accountability in the government, building a world-class education system for our students, attracting good jobs and investment to Oregon, making healthcare more affordable and accessible, keeping our families and communities safe, and utilizing while still protecting Oregon’s valuable natural resources.

Although the 2007 Legislative Session put Oregon on the right track, I’m running for re-election as State Representative for House District 9 because I believe there is still more that needs to be done. Oregon voters deserve honesty, integrity and real solutions to the challenges facing our state. As your elected representative I will continue to work to strengthen our local economy, ensure healthcare is accessible and affordable, advance our public education system, and improve our overall quality of life.
