Arnie Roblan, Co-Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives and candidate for Oregon’s Senate District 5, will host a conversation on jobs on Thursday, July 19 at 7:00pm.  In order to involve as many coastal citizens as possible the conversation will take place as a telephone town hall where participants can join and listen by phone. Roblan will be joined by Newport Port Commissioner and Commercial Fisherman Dave Jincks to talk about economic development and job creation along the coast.

As a legislator, Roblan has been intensely focused on the issues of Port Development and re-energizing the coast's natural resource-focused economic base. He has been a tireless advocate of infrastructure creation on the Coast, helping secure funding for the Coos Bay Rail Link, Newport's NOAA facility, and the North Bend Airport Expansion project.

“I am very interested to gather ideas about how to get Oregon’s coast back to work,” said Roblan. “I hope that citizens from Tillamook Bay to Coos Bay will participate in the call to discuss what we can do to return our region to prosperity”.

In May, Roblan hosted an economic summit in Coos Bay focused on bringing jobs and a diversified industry base to the Coast, which convened business leaders from across the region to map out how to get the coast working again.

“This town hall will be an excellent opportunity for citizens to share their thoughts on job creation,” said Roblan.

Local contractor Richard Kuznitsky said "As a small business owner, I am eager to talk with Arnie Roblan about what he is doing to help create jobs on the south coast. This forum seems to be a good opportunity to ask him about efforts to help folks like me."

The telephone town hall is designed to make it easy for residents from all corners of the district to participate in the conversation.  Residents can simply call the dial-in number: 1-877-229-8493 access code 16008, to talk with Roblan and Jincks about creating jobs on the Oregon Coast.

“I've been working to create greater economic opportunity on the coast, but it is important to me to hear my constituents' thoughts on issues affecting our economy and how decisions made in Salem have impacted their lives," said Roblan. “The telephone town hall is a great way for citizens concerned about the economy to let their voices be heard."
